Dušan Josimović was born on September 22, 1949, in Novi Bečej, to father Miroslav and mother Velinka. He completed elementary school and high school in his hometown. He spent his working years employed at the post office, and today, as a retiree and freelance artist, he lives in Novi Bečej with his wife Radmila.
He began painting relatively late, in his forties. His first works depicted classic Vojvodina landscapes, created in the style of naïve art. Over time, his artistic expression evolved, and his works gradually took on abstract forms.
As the themes of his paintings changed, so did the techniques he employed. Starting with traditional oil on canvas, Josimović later began working with tempera, acrylic, and watercolor. In addition to canvas, he paints on plywood, paper, wood, and other surfaces.
At first glance, some of his paintings may appear as blurred colors, without clear motifs, emotions, or messages. However, the artist emphasizes that his works are reflections of his thoughts and feelings, offering viewers the opportunity to experience each painting in a deeply personal and emotional way.
