The orchestra of Elementary School "Miloje Čiplić" was founded in 2008. It consists of students from higher grades under the guidance of music culture teacher Sofija Gurjanov-Jegdić. The idea of forming a Renaissance orchestra playing recorders emerged from the school director Zorica Garčev, who happened to see such an orchestra on television, composed also of elementary school students. She invited teacher Sofija and asked her to switch to the TV channel she was watching, inquiring if she could create a similar orchestra at the school. Teacher Sofija agreed, and thus it began.
The instruments were purchased in Belgrade, and when the instruments started arriving, the children and teacher Sofija encountered some of them for the first time. They included recorders of various pitches, which they mastered with the help of the teacher. In 2009, the teacher added several girls with exceptional vocal abilities to the orchestra, forming a vocal-instrumental ensemble. After three years of hard work and effort, our orchestra performed as part of a one-hour concert organized by teacher Sofija together with the small and large choir to mark the school's centenary in May 2010.
This orchestra has participated in several humanitarian concerts and openings, receiving praise for the high artistic quality of the music they perform. The orchestra, along with the vocalists, includes the following students:
