The orchestra of the "Miloje Čiplic" Elementary School is made up of interested and talented students. It all started with music lessons. During choir rehearsals, we used to clap our hands on desks to give rhythm for singing. We realized that wasn't the best solution. Teacher Sofija Gurjanov-Jegdić, the orchestra conductor, gathered students who would like to participate in an orchestra and explained to them what it involves.
That day, when we heard that recorders had arrived at school, intended for forming a school orchestra, we were all very excited and curious. Fifth graders argued about who would play which instrument. Now that we have progressed nicely, we wouldn't give up our instruments for anything. On Mondays and Thursdays, we practice together for an hour. Rehearsals are never boring; there's always something to do. Members of our orchestra play soprano, alto, and bass recorders, as well as drums and we also have singers. We play folk songs like "Đurđele", "Gugutka", "Marija", and others.
At the beginning, rehearsals were very demanding; we put in a lot of effort and took every performance very seriously. You can hear the result of our hard work at concerts held for various school festivities.
